Nicole Scalise is the music therapist at Nemours Children’s Hospital. She has a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Florida State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Central Florida. Nicole started the music therapy program at Nemours in January of 2018. In addition to being a Board Certified Music Therapist, she also has special certifications in NICU Music Therapy and in Neurologic Music Therapy. Her experience includes medical music therapy (children and adults), music therapy with mental health, and music therapy for children with developmental disabilities. During her time with Nemours, Nicole has provided group music therapy for inpatient rehabilitation patients, has collaborated to create a NICU parent support group, has incorporated heartbeat recordings as legacy projects for patients, and has established a relationship with the Ukulele Kids Club to donate ukuleles to patients. Nicole’s favorite instruments to play are the ukulele and the lollipop drum.
